This picture was taken around 2AM. After 17 hours on set, trying not to lose my shit over live snakes, watching everyone stress out and grow tired, losing all desire to stand or move after the 12 hour mark, and then a sudden urge to vacuum the office at 1:30AM, we ended the morning by setting the pineapple plantation ablaze and blowing up a potato bug head. I stood at the door to the stage to make sure no one came through. I could hear shouting on the other side, which I later realized was due to everyone standing so far away from the rigged head. The explosion was so big that I felt a gust of wind go under the door as it shook. I heard the assistant editor yell, and I walked down the hall to see that random objects on his desk had fallen over. When I walked back to the stage, there were fake bug guts splattered across the walls and on the floor. An exhausting day of work has culminated into this picture of a tiny pineapple plant embedded in fake bug guts that flew across the stage and onto the trash can. We all agreed to never clean it off. I secretly hope to return to this trash can in two or three years to find a grown pineapple.
